I started out in photography, as a photographer's assistant.
I did a lot darkroom and restoration work which was actually the main part of my job.
The restoration work was done mostly on copy materials.

Studied Commercial Art and Advertising Design and received my degree in 1991;
then decided to go back to school in 1994 to learn more about computer graphics.
This study was in Raleigh, North Carolina at the School of Communication Arts.
Studied in Florida in 2000 for web design at Seminole Community College.
I currently build and maintain my own website.

A hobby of mine is collecting mineral specimens.
I started a collection about 6 years ago. I joined the Central Florida Mineral and
Gem Society in 2008 and I served as President in 2009.
It was at this society that I learned more about lapidary arts which is something
I continue to pursue and practice. I have a store, Breadstix Designs on Etsy.
In this store I make Christian symbol jewelry as well as many other art jewelry designs.

Since age 10, I have worked with pastels. I have dabbled in watercolor and a little acrylic
but I always come back to where I began with pastel, charcoal, pencil, pen and ink.

Impressionism is the most beautiful art to me and the most influential for my work. It is one thing
to learn the skill of drawing what you see and another to make an "impression" of what you see and feel.
I started doing stipling and pointilism when I was a teenager. It is a style of impressionism that I tend to
come back to often. It takes much longer to do those pieces but, the end results make it worthwhile.

I strive to create a mood or flow with colors and shapes. Nature is the best guide for designing, creating and
getting inspiration. I look outdoors for ideas but I get influences everyday, all around me. My aim is to leave
the impression that wasn't there before with a fresh perspective on form and color within a frame.
